Utpal Bandyopadhyay
(9 September 1969 – 8 July 2021)

It is with a deep sorrow that we mourn the passing away of artist Utpal Bandyopadhyay on 8 July 2021. Utpal Bandyopadhyay was born at Howrah on 9 September 1969. He was graduated from Govt. College of Art & Craft, Kolkata in 1996. He was associated as an art educator with Loreto Day School, Sealdah, Kolkata since 1996.

From his childhood he was very keen to art. Presently he was associated with different artists’ groups and was trying to develop his own style of work since last ten years. This exhibition was preplanned with him in 2020 but before it takes place he left us forever. This exhibition is a tribute to him from Art Wave India.

The sudden demise of artist Utpal Bandyopadhyay is a loss for Art Fraternity. He was a very sensitive artist, a dedicated teacher, a very trustworthy friend, a person with a golden heart and beautiful smile. He was a very popular teacher amongst his students since last 24 years. May God give him eternal rest.
